Recently, we’ve seen the rise of instant mastering with most online mastering solutions ost costing a fraction of what it would normally be if you were to hire a mastering engineer to master your music. The question is, are they worth it? What are the pros and cons?
From what we’ve gathered (yes we’ve tried them all, Edem Tomtania, our senior In-house producer and founder was among the first people to test Landr some years ago) unless you have a really, really great mix, your masters will turn out just loud. We’ve found them to be more useful when used as part of your mixing process. Where you may have to go back and forth 10 or 15 times before reaching that perfect mix and master. I’ve personally done over 45 masters before reaching the desired result, partly because i am obsessed with quality and a bit of a perfectionist. Ig you have the time, great. But what do you do when you don’t have the time?
Well, we’ve searched the internet for the best comparison between real mastering and instant mastering. This is probably the best and most “entertaining” video on the subject.
